What is The Big Give? 

The Big Give is a 24-hour day of giving hosted annually by the University of Montana Foundation. Raising money through the collective efforts of individual donors, The Big Give empowers people from our UM community to enhance campus programs.  

Is there a minimum/maximum gift amount?  

The minimum gift allowed is $5. There is no maximum limit.   

Can I give to more than one area? 

Yes, you can support multiple areas when you check out. Make sure to select "Add Another" under “Gift Designation” on the gift form to select the other areas you would like to support. Your card will only be charged once for the sum of your donations.

Can I make my donation anonymous?  

Yes. When you make a gift, you will have the option to hide your name from the Donor Wall. You will be displayed on the website as “Anonymous”. 

When will the areas receive funds?  

Each participating program receives access to its gift once it is processed. Most gifts are processed and available within one week.

Will there be a fee associated with my gift to The Big Give?  

The University of Montana Foundation assesses a one-time 5% development fee on non-endowed, non-scholarship gifts. There are no additional fees associated with The Big Give. Learn about UM Foundation gift management fees.    

Who will receive my donation?  

Your gift goes directly to the participating program. As an independent nonprofit corporation, the University of Montana Foundation manages the designated fund associated with each campus group and only serves to assist in fundraising efforts. Is my gift tax deductible?  

Yes. The Big Give operates through the University of Montana Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation, and your gift is tax-deductible. You will receive a gift acknowledgement and tax receipt after making your donation. Consult with your tax advisor concerning taxable donations if you need more information. 

Can my employer match my gift?  

Yes! See if your employer will match your gift at checkout.
