College of Humanities and Social Sciences

The new College of Humanities and Social Sciences contains 11 departments and 7 programs, from History to Psychology to Anthropology, that reach students from every major across campus through our liberal arts approach to educating the entire individual. We are proud to prepare students to face today’s biggest challenges and to understand the world through a deeper knowledge of what it means to be human.

Giving today means:

• Opportunities for students to pursue professional training with an emphasis on interdisciplinary coursework
• Promoting respect for and engagement with diverse thoughts as students develop their own worldview
• Empowering faculty to continue to be effective scholars, researchers and mentors to UM’s student body
